All Ireland Matchplay Champion, Breda White from Tipperary Hills. Congratulations to Breda on winning the 2026 National Ladies Senior Matchplay held in Rocklodge, Cork. Breda has had an incredible season so far in 2026, claiming the County Matchplay title in Hillview in April. She followed that up with the Munster Ladies Senior Matchplay title in Fermoy in May and topped it off with the National Matchplay title in Rocklodge. Breda had previously won the National title in 2014, while she was runner-up in 1988, 2020, 2021. Breda thoroughly deserved her victory having overcome some previous winners en route to claiming the Elvery Cup. Breda overcame the 2024 champion Amy Galvin (Tullamore) in an enthralling semifinal and defeated the reigning champion Chrissie Sheedy (Ryston) in the final. Having made a clean sweep in the Matchplay competitions this season, no doubt Breda will be looking forward to the upcoming Strokeplay events over the next few months. The first of which is the County Strokeplay taking place in Riverdale this weekend.
